The present book is a humble attempt to satisfy the students and teachers appearing for UGC NET / SLET / CRET examination. Now I have become mandatory to qualify at the National or state level educational test to become eligible for lectureship or JRF. It is seen that particularly in the field of home science, there is a dearth of qualitative resource at an affordable cost to enable a student/teacher/academicians to access quality teaching. The present book helps Home Scientists to deal with their challenges and issues. In recent times Home science has emerged as multidirectional and multidimensional science encompassing wide spectrum of biological social and behavioral sciences. it is expected that this book will be useful for those appearing in a competitive exam. There has been an attempt through this manual to provide quality study material as per the standard UGC syllabus which can serve our young Home scientists to reach their goal and fulfill the needs of the student to qualify JF/NET/CRET/Lectureship in Home Science.

The examination usually comprises of two parts of Home Science subject, Paper-II and Paper III for UGC NET/CRET Examination. Home Science has five major specializations: I. Food Nutrition and Dietetics, ii. Clothing and Textiles, iii. Human Development and Family Studies, iv. Family Resource Management, & v. Extension Education & Communication. The students need to prepare in all five major branches to qualify the UGC NET/SLET/CRET. I hope this manual will be helpful for the students and teachers who are interested in research or to get lectureship in the Universities.
