The police officers, the lawyers, the judges, the forensic scientists, and the medico-legal personnel being important part of our judiciary system, need to get an: overall birdseye view of the emerging field of forensic science. The present book could be one step forward for the propose. Crime scene management is included with collection, preservation, packaging, and documentation of physical evidence. Method of searching and sketching are described in detail. As every crime scene is always unique in nature, accordingly a different approach is required for one crime to another. Therefore, a serious attempt has been made to include a professional approach to ‘ an effective crime scene investigation for such crimes.
Reminders have been provided in the book which would be a guide to the police investigating officers. This refers to major and essential points to be kept in mind before leaving the crime scene. A glossary of technical terms also included in the book, which will be useful. We look forward to valuable suggestions from our readers for further improvements.
We admit without any hesitation that the book though mostly based upon our personal experience, yet we have utilized all available information in the literature from the personal communication and discussions with the senior scientists, colleagues, police officers, and on the internet as well.
