About the Author Prof. Sunita Mishra, a renowned nutritionist and academician, presently holds the esteemed position of Dean School of Home Sciences, Head HDFS and Food & Nutrition Department of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar (Central) University, Lucknow. She possesses teaching experience of 30 years with a bright academic career. She authored twenty-two books and published 330 research papers of repute. The author has been decorated with several International and National awards, including award from Nobel Laureate of Medicine in Virginia, U.S.A. in 2008 and Life Time achievement Award in Bali, Indonesia in 2018. Several academic visits were undertaken by the author to Europe, U.S.A. and other countries for academic work. She participated in LEAP Program in 2018 in IIT Roorkee and University of Michigan, organized by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, New Delhi.
The author possesses D.Litt. (Doctor of Letters) degree in addition to Ph.D. and has guided 18 research scholars for Ph.D. successfully in BHU, Varanasi and BBAU, Lucknow. The author has been an assessor for NAAC since last five years and was appointed as the Chairperson by UGC in 2018 to frame the learning outcome based Curriculum Framework (LOCF) for Home Science in India and has also been nominated as expert for Centres of Excellence of UGC. The present work of the author is a masterpiece which deals with the nuances on food and life style problems and suggests ways and means for a healthy life. It suits to the present academic needs during the pandemic of Covid-19 also.
